Video: Kevin Smith watched Galacticast!!!
Tim Shey of Next New Networks has won the first instant producer credit on Galacticast after recording this video the other day of Kevin Smith watching Galacticast at the New York Comicon:
This fulfills one of the wishes on our wish list and we are eternally grateful to Tim Shey and his cameraman for having the guts to do it. We’d also like to thank Kevin Smith for being a good enough guy to take a moment and check out a clip from our show. And, Kevin, if you’re listening… someday we hope to grab your attention again with a Degrassi parody… a little Zit Remedy cover, perhaps?

[...] This weekend at Comicon, we got to fulfill a wish for some really nice and talented people (more on the Galacticast blog). It was a pleasure all the way; Kevin Smith couldn’t be a nicer guy, and he clearly genuinely appreciates things like this. There’s a very funny second chapter to this story, actually, but that’ll be in the next video. [...]
I think something I did broke your video link. You should be able to grab the embed code at my blip page… or steal it from here.
Tim Shey is a hero, and the “move away” guy is the biggest jerk on the face of the earth.
Congratulations, Tim! I had posted the video wish on Kevin Smith’s viewaskew.com message board, but you took the initiative to go out an get it. Well done!
BTW, the real hero of our story is cameraman Sean Monesson, who braved the power of the Dark Side to keep me in the frame.
That one guy was funny. “No move away, U cant be doing that” But good job to Tim for getting this video.
[...] This weekend at Comic Con, we got to fulfill a wish for some really nice and talented people (more on the Galacticast blog). You’ll see me in this video showing Kevin the fight scene from Galacticast episode The Last Day on a mobile phone while our producer Sean Monneson braves imperial troops (e.g., overzealous fans volunteering as an honor guard) to keep me in the frame. [...]
Wow that security dude was a complete asshole.
Kudos on gaining access to Kevin Smith, who seems a lot cooler than the far-too-serious Stormtroopers taking it upon themselves to “guard” him…
On another note, I’m very much looking forward to that Degrassi parody.
High security or what?? You give some little twerp a security badge and he thinks he’s TJ Hooker. I guess they did not want any Poperatzi taking crotch shots of him getting into his waiting mini-van.
What’s more pathetic? Walking around with “security” dressed as Stormtroopers, or that one guy ruining the video.
BIG props to the cameraman who managed to get it on film.
Congrats, guys.
It’ll be doubly cool when Kevin Smith shows up on the subscribers list…
I’m so jealous. Kevin rocks! So yeah this proves you give anyone a “important press pass” and they can start to act like a jerk. It also proves that cameramen like Sean Monesson are better than any hired camera men! And it proves most importantly that Galaticast fans truly rule.
peace
So — which video was Tim showing him?
[...] 2. A relationship with “the community” is key - Social networking, meetups, adding buddies or friends, Web 2.0 is all about the personal relationship in addition to quality service. A good example of this is Blip.tv you can call those guys any time of the day and they will help you out. they fix bugs on time and serve the community. Tim Shey seems to fill this position with N3. He jumps on the Videoblogging yahoo group, he gets involved with events, and even helped Galacticast obtain one of the things on their wish list. I would love for other members of the N3 team to get to know the folks who make up the vlogosphere, so here’s hoping. [...]

[...] My dad was actually a very good artist and he would sit down with me a lot and show me how to draw stormtroopers, Cylons, and Darth Vader correctly, since that was all I was ever interested in. I started at it [...]
